About the Book

Endurance, measured in tectonic time.

Remains asks what it means for a civilisation, a people, or an idea to last — not across a single lifetime, but across the kind of time geology deals in. It moves between historical argument and poetic metaphor, treating deep time and imperial legacy as two ways of asking the same question: what actually remains?

The book closes on a quote page from Ali Shariati, closing the argument on a note of moral clarity rather than resolution.

About the author. Rohan Vesper is an Australian creative and non-fiction author working at the collisions between deep history, geopolitics, and human resilience. Setting aside sanitised political narratives, Vesper's writing examines the human cost of global conflict and how constant exposure to it shapes the modern psyche — while honouring the endurance of the cultures that survive it.

"What remains is not what was built to last. It is what could not be removed."
